“Chapter 176 of the Texas Local Government Code requires the mayor, council members, city manager, city boards, city commissions, economic development corporation board members and directors, and any other person designated as an executive officer of the City to file a Conflicts Disclosure Statement with the City Secretary within seven days if they or a family member receive taxable income from a business relationship with a person who has contracted with the City or with whom the City is considering doing business or if they or a family member receive one or more gifts with an aggregate value of more than $250.00 in the preceding twelve months from a person who conducts business with the city or with whom the city is considering doing business. In addition, to the initial Conflicts Disclosure Statement an updated statement must be filed between June 1 and September 1 of each year that the contract or activity continues and on or before the seventh business day after the date of an event that would make a statement incomplete or inaccurate. The completed forms are required to be posted on the City’s website. The most current form is available from the Texas Ethics Commission Website at www.ethics.state.tx.us.”
